Relax while the children explore
For children there are swings, slide, a large in-ground trampoline, play hut, sit on tractors, table tennis table, badminton net, golf sets and for the little ones we have sandboxes and special mini swings. There are also sun loungers, picnic tables and seats in the general garden by the pool to relax and / or to have a chat.
The 5 acre site (2.5ha) is in a remote rural location with plenty of room for the children to "go on an adventure", but with peace of mind for the parents with little ones with each Gite having its own enclosed fences and gate.
Every holiday home in the Dordogne should have a swimming pool and we are thrilled with our new 11 x 5m pool with a depth of 1.2m to 1.8m. The swimming pool is fenced and can only be accessed via a security gate, so that younger children cannot enter without supervision. We also have children's paddling pools for the little ones.
There are loads of activities happening in the local area from Circuses, Marche Gourmands (Food Extravaganza's), Outdoor Movies, Concerts, Fireworks,Marketsand more. We will post these on ourFacebookpage as we see them and would encourage our guests to do the same.
Cycling and walking are popular in the area and there are plenty of trails that run through the village. Click on the map below for a PDF copy of the local trails. Hiking, horseback riding, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, golf and cycling are all ideal sports to explore the area. The capital of the Dordogne has an old center with narrow, cozy streets, where you can stroll around and settle down on one of the many terraces. In the old town there There are markets ddaily and the gastronomic specialties of Périgueux, including truffles and foie gras, occupy a place of honor and enjoy international renown.
The beautiful castle of Jumilhac le Grand, with its beautiful gardens, is definitely worth a visit. It is nearby and has lots of restaurants and bars nearby.
This beautiful and very spacious zoo is a pleasure for young and old. Located around a 19th century castle the animals live in so-called semi-freedom, on the large plains where you can observe and appreciate the animals in their natural element
The perfect getaway for a very hot day or a rainy day. Here you will find the largest underground cave system in the Dordogne - more than 13 km. The underground river has carved out enormous halls connected by corridors. During the tour you can admire impressive stalagmites and stalactites and murals that are 17,000 years old.
The venice of the Perogod!. Brantome is a beautiful town with a saturday market. It has lots of shops to wander around and restauarants along the river. You can also go on a canoeing trip from here or an electric pleasure cruise if you prefer to keep dry. If you are lucky you might catch the rowing jousting on the river as well.
