​Saint Pierre de Frugie is one of the most northernmost communes of the Dordogne, nestled in the rolling woodlands and fields of the Perigord-Limousin Natural Park.

We are a small village and commune, but with a clear purpose. Saint-Pierre-de-Frugie is committed to a sustainable world. The village is accredited a Town and Village in Bloom.

It has made significant ecological commitments, by way of promoting local produce, differentiated methods of farming and land management, zero pesticides in public areas, and many other initiatives. 

There is a real sense of community – from the bistro Le Frugie, Sunday morning local produce market, organic grocery store, the community funded school La Tour Rose, the Sonneur support project and of course Les Jardins de Frugie. See how many iron statues you can find, visit the Church of St Peter and St Paul, and wonder if Richard the Lionheart really did seek refuge nearby after receiving the fatal crossbow wound. Or simply stroll the chestnut lined lanes, spotting ponds and young streams many days before they reach the Dordogne.

At less than a ten minute gentle stroll away from La Saucisserie, it’s well worth a visit.
